Goodbye 2012....

I am so happy to see you go away! I don't know about you, but 2012 was NOT a good year for me...for reasons I don't need to discuss. Although I learned that my passion for makeup is stronger than ever...so in 2013 I vow to pursue that more!

The highlights of my year include:

Going to IMATS for the first time....meeting all the cool YouTube gurus...and judges from Face Off.

Going to Barcelona, Spain for 2 weeks as well as Brussels, Belgium...meeting some amazing people and staying in touch with them in hopes of visiting them again soon!

Practicing makeup on friends, and others so I can fine tune my application techniques.

Things I look forward to in 2013:

Going to IMATS again in January...this time with my bff and some other friends :D

Hopefully going to Seattle to visit my sister.

Maybe going to The Makeup Show LA in March

Practicing makeup and building up a portfolio...

So goodbye 2012....you can go right back where you came from.....and here's to 2013....and bigger and better things!

Stay Bright and Bold!

Zombiefied.....

Since I planned on staying home the weekend before Halloween I decided to play with my makeup!...Here is the ending result :D Hope you like it!

First I put on the lightest foundation in my Ben Nye Matte Foundation professional palette. (no flash)
Then I covered the foundation with my Ben Nye Viseage powder, and Tako white shadow from Sugarpill Cosmetics.
(No Flash) Trying out my crazy face!
Face with flash on
Took my Jumbo White NYX pencil and  drew over my eyebrows. Primed my eyelids with Urban Decay's primer potion. Took a grey shadow from MAC and applied the bags under my eyes.
Frontal View (Lurch Status lol)
Took a silver eyeshadow from MAC and put it on my eyebrows. Also took a lime green pigment and stippled it below the grey under my eyes for a shimmery dead effect.

See the green? :)

Took black eyeshadow from KIKO and contoured my cheeks, forehead, jaw, and nose. Used NYX Jumbo black pencil in Black Bean as lipstick. I applied ardell eyelashes #33 and black mascara on the bottom lashes also.

My attempt at a Sugar Skull makeup

So I bought white makeup this weekend as I posted in my previous blog. I had some free time tonight so I decided to give the Sugar Skull face makeup a go...I used all eyeliners for the black and turquoise.

Here are some pics of the process....It's not perfect...I did it just for fun...but can't wait to do it again...less rushed!

ENJOY!

ULTA and Party CIty Haul!

On Sunday I went out shopping with my mom...I wanted to get some white paint to make a sugar skull design. Along with the white paint, I got some spirit gum adhesive and remover along with a vampire bite marks. I want to try and do some special fx...so I figured why not? It's worth trying, and it was inexpensive! I can't wait to create a sugar skull! I will post pics of that for sure!

I also got some cool body crystals for some upcoming makeup looks I have in mind :D

SO now for my ULTA Haul! I originally went in to just browse because I wasn't impressed with much from this month's catalogue...but I left with some goodies!

I bought these 3 nail polishes...3 for $9...I used these colors to make my candy corn nails.

While browsing I saw this palette...I was in awe....it has 45 colors, 9 eyeliners, 6 blushes and 6 lipgloss....all for $59...now some of you might say DAMN that's a lot...but think about it...45 eye shadows...that alone is over $300...so I figured it was a good deal...and I got it! I will put swatches and a review of the colors up as soon as I use it!

45 eyeshadow colors :D

5 blushes and 1 bronzer...9 eyeliners, 6 lip colors!

I also needed heat protector for my hair since I ran out of my other stuff....they were having a sale...by 2 get one free...so I got some Heat protector, Sculpting Mousse and Awapuhi moisture oil. I'm excited to try this stuff out! (yes its not Aveda...but it will work I just know it!)

Overall I am happy with my haul so far...after I use the products more I am sure I will be super happy!

Keep an eye out for the reviews and sugar skull makeup!

Until then...stay bright and BE BOLD!

Gold, Bold, Dramatic Eyes

I like BOLD, BRIGHT, OUT THERE colors...so I decided on Goldilux from Sugarpill Cosmetics, Black from Kiko makeup, Tako from Sugarpill Cosmetics, along with Inglot eyeliner 77,  Fake eyelashes and Too Faced Mascara to blend in my natural lashes with the fake ones. I wore Urban Decay Super-Saturated Lip Glide in Punch Drunk. Here are some step by step pics...hope you enjoy!

Here is the finished look!

I think that Goldilux is one of my favorite colors ever! It is so pigmented and I just love the shimmer! If you are looking for that perfect shade of gold...I highly recommend it! You can find it at www.sugarpill.net!

Stay bright!

Thank heaven for Back 2 MAC!

I've been buying MAC makeup for what it seems to be forever now...well close to 10 years or so. I have strayed from it here and there but they do make amazing products! My favorite thing about MAC...(well one of my favorites) is the Back 2 MAC program. If you're not familiar with Back 2 MAC...its a recycling program. Basically if you bring 6 empty containers (anything plastic, metal, empty shadow palettes, empty lipstick tubes) to a MAC store you can choose from a new eye shadow, lipstick (some excluded) or lipglass lipgloss free. If you bring 6 containers to a MAC counter in any big department store you can get a lipstick only.

They have sooooo many different eyeshadows and lipstick to choose from it could take forever. The lipglass selection is less thrilling but if lipgloss is your thing, you'll love them.

I spent a good 20 minutes looking at lipsticks and eyeshadows. Since I brought in 12 empty containers I could get 2 products. I found an awesome lipstick which they didn't have...and then another lipstick which was similar to the first, and they didn't have it either :( I was sad. Luckily I found a 3rd replacement lipstick. It's called Dare You (Cremesheen). Here is a picture :D

It is a really pretty red/wine color with some sheen.

Here is a picture of it on.
(Love the Ooooo face haha!)

Now for the other item...I was going to get Carbon (matte black) again since mine broke awhile ago, but went in another direction. For me...finding an eyeshadow that I don't have is hard because I have soooooo many MAC shadows. I chose BRUN (matte brown) for 2 reasons...1) I love matte colors, especially for smokey looks, and 2) I actually didn't have it. Here is a pic of it, although it doesn't do the color justice. It is actually a little bit darker than the color shown. I don't have any pics of me with it on but its just a matter of time until I do haha!

So if you are a user of MAC products...DON'T THROW THE EMPTY PACKAGES AWAY!!! Save them...then take them to the closest MAC store or counter and trade them in for something free! Who doesn't love free?

Here's to the weekend and playing dress up...to recycling and free makeup!

So be bright, be bold...glow like NEON!

Recent ULTA purchases and review!

I always love getting the ULTA catalogue in the mail! I go through it like a kid reading a scholastic book order! I go through and circle things I want...and think about the stuff that I can live without...then organize a game plan. So the most recent ad came in the mail and I got to circling stuff I wanted...I saw this mini Benefit set Exclusively for ULTA...it was $24. It had 6 Products...so I wanted to try them out. So I went to ULTA and purchased it...and was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! Here is what I got and info about each!

A mini version of HOOLA bronzer...I loveeeee this! Its the perfect tone....I use it as a contour and it fits perfectly! It blends great and there is just enough of it to last me awhile...but it is definitely a product that if I ran out of the mini, I will purchase the bigger box!
This is the mini HOOLA...<3
The pink tube is Posie Tint...I used it a couple times on my cheeks. The directions say to apply dots on your cheek and immediately blend. Even after blending the dots remain. I probably won't use this too often.

The shiny tube is High Beam...LOVE THIS! Its an amazing liquid highlighter. Inside is a brush like a lipgloss and its easy to apply and blend and will not leave dots like the Posie Tint.
THIS WAS THE WINNER OF THE WHOLE PACKAGE!!! OMG This product *Stay Don't Stray* gets rid of my dark circles and makes my under eyes look FLAWLESS! You put 3 dots under your eye and 3 on top, blend it in then put concealer on top of it, and set with powder...and VOILA...you look awake! I loved this sooooo much I bought the full size! I recommend this to EVERYONE haha!
"That Gal" brightening face primer...is ok...it didn't make my face bright. I won't be buying the bigger version of this.
LOVEEEE this! Going to use all of the mini vial first then break open this one!
I stumbled across this yesterday while at ULTA...I applied some under my eyes and on my lids and the darkness went away! I just hadddd to have it! With this, Stay Don't Stray, concealer and powder...my eyes have never looked better! I recommend this too!

There was also a mini version of Big Fatty Mascara from Benefit as well. I like the normal sized mascara but the mini is ALL brush...you open it up and its just brush! Makes it hard to get all your lashes. I don't recommend that mini.

So all in all I was very pleased with my Benefit purchase from ULTA! I recommend some of the products, but not all...and I'm also interested in trying other things by them as well in the future!

Hope you enjoyed this review...if you're interested, go out and get the mini set from ULTA before they are all gone!

Be Bold....Be Bright...shine like Neon Lights!
